Sony’s Alpha 1 with 50 mgpxl sensor

With the professional photographers and filmmakers in mind, Sony today launched the Alpha 1, the new flagship mirrorless camera under the Alpha series. Many are calling this camera the most powerful mirrorless camera they have ever seen. Special features of Alpha 1 include 50.1 megapixel full-frame Exmor RS image sensor, a pair of Bionz XR processors for image processing, five-axis in-body image stabilization, OLED quad-XGA Electronic. Sony says its real-time EYE AF is 30 percent more efficient than previous-generation cameras. Again, Alpha 1 uses real-time tracking based on artificial intelligence to automatically capture focus.

Specifications of Sony Alpha 1

Sony Alpha 1’s full-frame stacked CMOS sensor can take 49.6 megapixel photos up to 30FPS. The camera also features a silent and vibration-free electronic shutter that allows for anti-flicker shooting with both mechanical and electronic shutters. The camera can shoot 8K videos up to 30FPS in the 100-32,000 ISO range. Again it is capable of shooting 4K video up to 120FPS, which is useful for 5X slow motion videos. The camera includes more movie functions for filmmakers. Like the Alpha 7S III, the Alpha 1 has a heat-removing design. According to the company, 8K / 4K video can be recorded up to 30 minutes if the heat-tolerant setting is set to maximum.

The Alpha 1 comes with an electronic viewfinder (OLED) with a 240 Hz refresher. The single-frame full-frame mirrorless camera will be able to record 430 shots using the Viewfinder (530 using the LCD display) and 145 minutes of continuous video recording. Connectivity options include a micro USB port, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, a 3.4mm mic terminal, and a LAN port. There is also a USB Type-C port, which will support superspeed USB 10-Gbps (USB 3.2) data transfer and power delivery.

Price of Sony Alpha 1

The Alpha 1 full frame mirrorless camera has been launched in the United States for 6,500 (about Rs 4.75 lakh in Indian currency). It is still awaited to debut in India. It is listed on Sony India’s website as “Available Soon”. It is now being pre-ordered in the United States. Shipping of Alpha 1 will start from March 4.
