I have a smartphone in my hand, but it doesn’t have WhatsApp – you can’t think of that these days. More than 1 million messages are sent every day from this short messaging app owned by Facebook. WhatsApp, meanwhile, often comes up with new features to keep users happy and popular. As heard a few days ago, WhatsApp is working on its storage optimization, so that users can easily manage storage. According to reports, today, WhatsApp has rolled out this storage optimization option for beta users with new storage UI (user interface) and some features.
According to WABetainfo, this new storage optimization feature will be available in the 18.104.22.168 beta version of WhatsApp. This feature allows users to open chats individually or separately from the storage options and see how much storage the media files of those chats are consuming. Not only that, a new storage bar will be seen.
From the new optimized storage bar, users can shorten its files by time (new / old) or size. There will even be auto suggestions for deleting unnecessary files. Also, separate sections will be seen for forwarded files and large files.
Lots of photos, videos, GIFs, PDFs, etc. are exchanged in our daily WhatsApp chats. Presumably, the file management will be much easier for this updated storage section, and it will leave a lot of space on the phone’s internal storage. However, since this new feature has been introduced for Android beta users, stable users will not be able to enjoy it right now.
